Bayerisches Junior Ballett München

About us

Sixteen promising young dancers between the ages of 17 and 21 are given the opportunity to gain professional experience on stage for two years as members of the Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich.

When the dancers of the Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich step on stage, their youthful joy spills over into the auditorium. Their eagerness to share their talents with the audience is heart-warming.

The ensemble was founded in 2010 as the first junior company in Germany and remains the country’s largest youth company with 16 dancers. Under the leadership of Ivan Liška, it has won over audiences far beyond Bavaria: As a cultural ambassador of the Free State of Bavaria and the City of Munich, it has performed all over Germany, as well as in Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Israel and Hong Kong to great success.

The young dancers’ fresh and infectious energy has won acclaim from audiences and critics alike. They can join the company for a maximum of two years. During this time, they are meticulously prepared for life as a professional dancer.
