David Russos new creation «Drifting»

David Russo is a dancer, choreographer, and dance educator. After training at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart, he was a soloist in Saarbrücken and Munich. Today, he lives and works in Munich. Since 2004, he has choreographed his own pieces for renowned institutions worldwide. Russo teaches contemporary dance at the Ballet-Academy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.

For his new work «Drifting», created for students of the Munich Ballett-Academy, David Russo describes “the feeling of being carried away by an invisible force, without control or direction. The movements reflect the unpredictable, floating, and directionless nature of love, where one is swept along by an external power, as if weightless and detached, without a firm grip. In this dance piece for four couples, the fragility and chaos of love are embodied, as each pair exists in a state of drifting and letting go, searching for orientation and balance.”
