When does the entrance begin?

Focus / Preparation
In the morning of the Bosl-Matinees, dancers of the Bayerisches Junior Ballett München wake up early in the morning at the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung’s Boarding House located in the bustling viertel of Schwabing.
Listening / Observing
Dancers make their way by underground train to either Odeonsplatz or Marienplatz, an arrival destination that will be frequented by audience members only a few hours later, and walk over to the Nationaltheater located on Maximilian street.
Together – and yet each for themselves
Feeling – an inner process
Upon arriving at the Nationaltheater, dancers make their way to the dressing rooms before going up to the 6th floor where the light-filled ballet studio of the Bayerisches Staatsballett is located. Here they warm up their bodies and participate in a classical ballet training given to prepare and warm up their bodies for their upcoming performing.
Preparing for the moment
Harmony inside and out
After the morning classical ballet training, dancers go back down to the dressing rooms to apply the final touches to their makeup and hair before dressing themselves up in costumes and moving over to the backstage area.
Watching
Empathising
Having already had a stage rehearsal in the days leading up to the Matinee performance, once the dancers arrive backstage on the dance of the performance it is often about centering themselves, going through the choreography and making their final preparations in order to give their best. There is often a great feeling of camaraderie in the wings as they support each other making their way on and off the stage in constant repetition.
A moment in eternity
When the lights dim in the Zuschauerraum and the opulent red velvet curtains of the National Theater open, its show time!
